Wilton Stewart Webb, age 78, Montgomery, IL died on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at his residence. He was born March 13, 1945, in Washington, IA the son of the late Wilton Herman and Roberta Ann nee Stewart Webb.

Stewart served his country honorably with the US Army in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor and the Purple Heart. After his service he was employed by the Federal Aviation Administration as an air traffic controller at the Chicago Center for 11 years. He was the owner of Webb Enterprises which specialized in computer programing, human resources, microfilm sales and accounting. He obtained his pilot's license along with advanced skill levels of piloting. Committed to mentoring, he served as lead umpire for the Pony League Baseball and as a Scout Leader. He served as a District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America and was a Scout Master for Troop 48 - guiding both his sons to reach Eagle Scout. An active member and Elder of Oswego Presbyterian Church he helped steer the Committee on Ministry and served the Blackhawk Presbytery.

Stewart played football, basketball, and golf while in High School and continued to be passionate about his Mount Vernon Rams. His favorite time of the week was when he could watch them on Friday night football! He graduated from Kansas State University and was always proud to wear purple to support his Wildcats!

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was happiest when he would learn the latest from his children and grandchildren as they shared their talents and accomplishments.

He is survived by his wife Nancy nee Dewey Webb, two sons Andrew Stewart (Heather) Webb of Anna, IL, Patrick Dewey (Shannon) Webb of Fort Collins, CO, five grandchildren Avery, Hayden, Hannah, Henry and William Webb, a brother Clinton (Nancy) Webb of Lexington, SC, two nieces Rachel Webb Adermatt, Ashley (Zach) Webb Scheiner, one great grand niece Samatha Adermatt, two great nephews Wilton and Samuel Schneiner . He was also preceded in death by a sister Polly (Ray) Vogel and brother Jeffery (Linda) Webb.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 9:30 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev Skip Shaffer officiating at Oswego Presbyterian Church, 1976 Rt 25, Oswego, IL. Graveside service with military honors by the US Army will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Old Shiloh Cemetery, 10325 E Boyd Rd, Mount Vernon, IL.
