William Stanley Patterson age 89 peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, May 23, 2024. He was born January 25, 1935 in Milo Township, Bureau County, Illinois, the son of Ermet Stanley and Julia (nee Fulk) Patterson. William and Geraldine (nee Friend) were married February 4, 1955, and were happily together for 67 years.

Having learned to farm from his father, Bill "Stan" farmed and worked at Caterpillar until he retired in 1990.

Bill "Stan" and Gerry spent the next years enjoying bluegrass jams and car shows as members of the Auroraland Auto Restorers Club. His favorite pastime was restoring vintage Fords from bumper to bumper.

Bill "Stan" is survived by his children, Janet (Duane) Wolff, Linda (Randy) Harrison, Doris (Tony) Buchner and Vern (Mary) Patterson along with her grandsons Ryan and Jared Harrison and Will (Janelle) and Brad Patterson, and great grandson Ethan Harrison, sisters Thelma Schaer and Betty Kent, many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gerry (2022), parents and siblings Mary Hasselman, Margaret Schlupp, Jude Rogers, Bud Patterson, and George Patterson.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 11:00 A.M.to 3:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, Illinois 60543.

Family and friends will meet directly at Aux Sable Cemetery Grove Road ½ mile S. of Illinois Route 126, Yorkville, Illinois immediately following services at the funeral home, with a Celebration of Bill's life to follow.
