IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Laurence "Bill"
Eberhart
May 12, 1938 – April 22, 2023
William Laurence "Bill" Eberhart, was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 with his wife Linda at his side. He was born in Climax, PA on May 12th, 1938, to parents William and Ethel nee Cathcart Eberhart, and was the eldest of five children: Dennis Eberhart, Grace George, Timothy Eberhart, Ruth Zullo and John Eberhart. Bill married his wife Linda in 1979, and celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Bill was the blessing of his two biological children, Catherine Henriksen, her children Christopher Henriksen, Jason Henriksen, and Bethany King and Linda (Stephen) Pasieta, their children Elizabeth (Tyler) Burch and Matthew Pasieta. He also loved and reared his bonus-children, Marci Gummo (Charles) Resch, their children Charles Resch III, Ryan Resch, Abigail Resch, Lindsay Resch and Gavin Resch, and John Jeffrey (Kathy) Gummo, their children John Gummo, Kyle Gummo, and Lauren Gummo.
Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly following graduation and served overseas from 1959 until 1963 in Japan. He played softball for many years, pitched horse shoes, and enjoyed bowling for most of his adult life. His bowling skills (at one time) reached 212 and he was invited to participate in competitions across the country. He was still bowling at 84 years young, not as well as he would've liked, but continued on because it was something he so loved. He had a passion for reading, was a big Penn State fan, and did the crossword puzzles and Sudoku every morning while sipping on a cup of coffee. He enjoyed feeding the birds and other critters in his back yard. He volunteered for 9 years at the local senior center where he was able to meet a lot of community members. He was admired by many, including his neighbors and their children whom he adored. Bill was a "simple" man, as his wife Linda describes him.
He had discussed his final wishes and expressed his desire to NOT have a service or funeral, but wished for his friends and family to think of him and remember him in their homes. His memory will live on through his loved ones and all of the lives he had touched.
Arrangements have been entrusted to DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Rd Oswego, IL 60543.
