Wendy Jo (Wright) Koehler, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away at her home on May 5, 2026 at the age of 70. She was born January 13th, 1956 to the late Royce Davis Wright Jr. and Nancy (Bielby) Wright.

Wendy is survived by her beloved husband, and best friend, Greg Koehler, their daughter Cody Elizabeth Pynenberg, son-in-law Adrian Pynenberg and her grandchildren; Brooks Adam, Bennett Evan and Bowen Allen Pynenberg, her siblings; Patricia (Greg) Snakenberg of Bettendorf, Iowa, Thomas (Elizabeth) Wright of San Pierre, Indiana, Andy (Gina) Wright of Huron, Ohio, and Royce R. (Buz) Wright of Northglenn, Colorado. She is also survived by her maternal aunts, Doris McHale of Naperville, Illinois and Karen Collins of Prairie Village, Kansas. Along with Wendy's parents, Wendy was preceded in death by her son Adam Royce Koehler and two brothers, William and James Wright.

Wendy was born in Elmhurst, Illinois and lived in Glen Ellyn, Illinois until the age of five when her family moved to LaSalle, Illinois. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1974 and then moved to Valparaiso, Indiana with her family. She attended Purdue and majored in Construction Technology. Early in her career she worked in the construction industry, primarily residential home design and commercial estimating. As her career evolved she worked as a window and millwork sales rep., construction coordinator and business management.

Wendy loved music, walking, reading, gardening, meditation and time with family and friends. She and Greg made the most of their retirement. She felt very fortunate to have had these past seven years. Making memories camping with her precious grandsons were her favorite trips. Mima, as she was fondly called, was named by Brooks when he was just 2. Mima was always present and extremely proud. Though she was a lifelong Cubs and Bears fan, she found her greatest joy watching her three grandsons play their favorite sports. Mima was always there for them, offering unconditional love and support. Her grandsons were her greatest joy.

Wendy's life was ultimately taken by Metastatic triple negative breast cancer. A fight she began in 2019.
