The family of Vivien Wallis is saddened to announce her passing at the age of 82. Vivien was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her remarkable endurance, generosity, and grace.
Born in Aurora, Vivien graduated from East Aurora High School in 1962. She is survived by her devoted husband of 52 years, Daniel Wallis; her children, Karen (Derrick) Young, Glen (Denise) Hasenheyer, and Steven (Margaret) Wallis; seven grandchildren, Benjamin Young, Jamaal Young, Jason Young, Alyssa Hasenheyer, Caitlin Wallis, Taylor Paloma, and Chase Borg; and nine great-grandchildren, Harvey, Holden, Joah, Ayla, Mila, Elias, Evelynn, Alonzo, and Eleanor. She also leaves behind her siblings, Earlene Leifheit and Lynn Cate.
Vivien was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mary Cate; her first husband, Eugene Hasenheyer; and her siblings, Jack Cate, Kathy Williams, and Nancy Wicks.
An avid reader, gardener, and bowler, Vivien later became an expert puzzle master and dedicated golfer. Her spirit of service shone through her work at Anderson Farms, where she cared for her mother and assisted elderly residents. As a two-time cancer survivor, she inspired others by serving as treasurer for a local ostomy support group. Vivien had a special fondness for Dairy Queen.
A visitation will be held at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory (1801 S. Douglas Rd, Oswego, IL 60543) on Tuesday, June 30th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral service on Wednesday, July 1st, at 10:00 AM. at the funeral home.
Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, IL
