Virginia H. Horn went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2024. She was born December 7, 1926 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Albert John and Martha Vera nee Falk Hettrick.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard (Catherine) Horn of Aurora, IL, Randall (Karen) Horn of Aurora, IL, and daughter Sherrie (Marlin) Ludwig of Somonauk, IL, grandchildren Nicole (Andrew) Thonn of Glen Ellyn, IL, Andrew Horn of Villa Park, IL, Hollie (Kristian) Giglietti of Asheville, NC, Heather (Scott) Liscomb of Kankakee, IL, Hope (Stephen) Shea of Pottstown, PA, great-grandchild Maria and Hazel Thonn of Glen Ellyn, IL, Ruby Shea of Pottstown, PA, and Vander and Arthur Liscomb of Kankakee, IL.

Virginia graduated from Oswego High School class of 1944 and went on to attend Richies Secretarial School in Aurora, IL where she mastered typing, shorthand and bookkeeping. Throughout her career, she was employed by Loyal Order of Moose in Mooseheart, IL, American Broadcasting Co., in Chicago, IL, University of Chicago, IL, Lyon Metal Products in Montgomery, IL, Henry Pratt in Aurora, IL, White Collar Temporary Service, Aurora, IL and Kelly Temporary Service in Aurora, IL. Twice a week Virginia assisted the teachers of McCleery School in Aurora, IL as a reading aid for 15 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora, IL. She was a piano player there for over 15 years, a Sunday School teacher, Ladies Circle Leader, Homebuilders Club, WOW, kitchen clean-up crew, a greeter and attended the majority of church meetings.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:30 AM until a funeral service at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 325 East Downer Place, Aurora, IL 60505. Burial will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
