Victor Román, a cherished Husband, Father, Grandpa, Brother, Tío and friend, was born on July 28, 1935, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He resided in Aurora, IL from 1952 until he peacefully passed away on April 27, 2025, surrounded by his wife, seven daughters, grandchildren and sister. Victor has been lovingly reunited with his parents, Esperanza Torres Román and Juan Román, and his beloved sisters, Candelaria Román and Carmen Vasquez. Victor leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, amazing generosity and kindness that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 32 years, Elodia Román (nee Acevedo), seven daughters and their partners, Esperanza Román (son-in-law – Early Ray King), Esmeralda Román (daughter-in-law -Ebony Lynn Mays), Veronica Román-Meyer (son-in-law – Jeremy Meyer), Victoria Román Lane, Nina Elena Román (son-in-law – Jose De La Cruz Jr.), Nancy Román, Elizabeth Román, twelve grandchildren Michael Anthony Román, Admaira Alexandrea Román, Javier Joseph Hill, Jae Esteban Román Meyer, Timothy Michael Lane, Antonio Markus Lane, Joshuah Johnathan Lane, Nyah Janae De La Cruz, Santino Román De La Cruz, Alexandra Solorio, Aidan Anthony Ambre and Logan Elias Melendez and siblings Anita N. Ocasio, Jose Oscar Román, Rosa Lydia Román and Reynaldo Román.

Victor Román's life was a testament to love, dedication, and generosity. For over 50 years, he poured his heart into his work as Plant Manager at Marberry Cleaners in North Aurora, earning admiration for his unwavering commitment and tireless spirit. But beyond his career, Victor's true gift was his boundless kindness—always ready to lend a hand, whether fixing an HVAC system or guiding a friend through the careful process of building a home addition. His wisdom, work ethic, and steady presence were embraced by all who knew him. Victor's legacy is one of acceptance, service, and love—values he embodied with every act of care and compassion. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will always shine in the lives he touched.

Visitation on Thursday, May 1st, from 3:00pm to 7:00 pm at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543.

Mass of Christian burial on Friday, May 2nd, at St. Rita of Cascia Catholic Church 750 Old Indian Trail Aurora, IL 60506 at 10:00 a.m.  Family and friends are to meet directly at the church.
