Vicenta Velazquez, age 98, at rest peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 22, 1924, in Robstown, Texas, the daughter of the late Justo and Demetria (nee Morales) Sanchez.

She is survived by three loving children Carlos (Patricia) Velazquez, Esmeralda Ortiz and Fermin and Ines Velazquez; proud grandmother of twelve, John and Manuel Velazquez, Veronica Orosco, Claudia (David) Morales, Grace (Aaron) Rocha, Alex Amezcua, John, Michael (Jessica), Fermin Jr. (Daisy) Velazquez, Lorena (Raymond) Lancaster, Charles (Cait) Velazquez; great grandmother of thirty-four, Alex, Sierra, Jade, Roman, Madi, and Del Velazquez, Jessica and Jasmine Maldonado, Isaiah Martin, Marvin III, Manny, Michael, Maliya Acosta, Jailene Rocha, Jozlyn (Bryan) Lopez, Julian and Josiah Rocha, Xavier (Jissel) Martinez, Nathan and Christopher Amezcua, Azaliah, Ezra, Maximina Velazquez, Jaime Lopez, Jowel Franco-Cruz, Freddy and Eliano, Zechariah Velazquez, Serena, Max, Mia Lancaster, Sawyer, Penny and Talia Velazquez; great-great grandmother of seven, Emmett Watts, Zayden Maldonado, Isaiah Martin Jr., Xander and Zayvian Mendoza, Axel Lopez and Adriana Rocha; sisters Aurora Morales, Maria Lopez and Alicia Benavides; brothers Ismael and Ruben Sanchez; aunt and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Sebastian Velazquez, her son Manuel Velazquez, Sr., parents, her siblings David and Justo Sanchez, Anastacio, Cocepcion, Tona, Lola, Benito, Herlinda and Juana, son-in-law Israel C. Ortiz, grandson Paul Orosco Jr., great grandson Oscar Rivera Jr., great-great grandchildren Bela Rose, Avery, Angel, and two other babies in infancy, and a very special friend, Jose Chavez.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 14, 2022 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543.

Prayer service will be held at 6:00 P.M.

Celebration of life will be held Tuesday, November 15th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Tigers Club, 1040  6th Ave., Aurora, IL 60505.
