Gerald "Jerry" Francis Valencik, age 71, of Oswego, IL, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born January 23, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the son of John J. and Mary K. nee Daniel Valencik. Gerald worked many years in the maintenance department for Hawthorn Realty. He enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas, softball, boating and water-skiing. He was always working on projects in his home. He is survived by his wife Donna nee Fricke Valencik of Oswego, IL, children Scott (Christina) Valencik of Oswego, IL, Dean (Cindy) Valencik of Shorewood, IL, Kevin (Laura) Valencik of Naperville, grandchildren Zachary, Alexandra, Kelly, Carly, Kaitlyn, Alyssa and Matthew, brother John Valencik of Orlando, FL and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Dolores and Lydia. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 1:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
