After a long and private battle with colon cancer, Tony Iennarella passed on September 7th at his home in Yorkville, IL. He leaves behind his wife, Gayle Iennarella; his daughters Theresa and Chelsea Iennarella; and his son Nick Iennarella.
Tony was born on December 16, 1948 in Cranston, RI to father, Ralph Iennarella, who preceded him. Tony was an officer in the US Army and attended college at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb where he earned his master's degree in sociology and me this wife of 34 years, Gayle. He was employed at Statesville Correctional Center as a Case Work Supervisor until her retired in 2004.
Tony is remembered by those who knew him as intelligent and down to earth. He had a unique way of relating to and touching nearly everyone he met without bias or judgement and was known for his sense of humor, questionable/age-appropriate taste in music and his meticulous organization of his personal belongings. Tony had a passion for computers and fishing with a love for Dunkin Donuts, Bic .07 pens, Android operating systems and Menards.
Tony lived life with a purpose, taking pride in caring for and supporting his wife and kids. He took his life and fashion advice from no one and selflessly lived for those that he loved. His hea-aht was truly made of gold and he will be missed, so much.
Tony requested to be cremated. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Iennarella residence from 4pm to 7pm; all are welcome.
