Timothy P. Platt II 43, of Lenoir, NC. formerly of Sheridan, IL., passed away on February 23, 2023 after a 10 year battle with cancer.

Tim was born on March 8, 1979 to Timothy Sr and Betty Platt in Sandwich, IL. After Tim graduated from Serena High School in 1998, he joined the Sheridan Community Fire Protection District where he served the community as a Firefighter until 2004. Tim met Janet Gullett through mutual friends and were married on October 30, 1999 in Oswego, IL. Tim and Janet went on to have 2 wonderful children Austin and Johnathan.

After moving to Lenoir, NC. he worked for Avery Dennison, which he would later leave and moved on to work for Chase Neptco as a laminator. Tim enjoyed all his free time with his boys hanging out around the fire and playing with his dogs Max, Bella, Shinner and Rosie. Tim enjoyed visiting and vacationing in South Carolina with his cousins and his godparents Rusty and Pat. Tim was an avid gun collector, enjoyed fishing, bowling, shooting, and enjoying life.

Tim was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Versal A. and Margret H. Platt maternal grandparents Basil B. and Elise M. Ainsworth. Godfather Versal "Rusty" Platt Jr. Uncles: Cecil R. Tim is survived by his parents Timothy Sr and Betty Platt of Sheridan, IL. 2 children Austin Platt and Johnathan Platt both of Lenoir, NC. Widow Janet Platt of Lenoir, NC. Siblings: Michael (Jenny) Platt of Sheridan, IL. Matthew Sr. (Tiffany) Platt of Lenoir, NC, honorary brother Eric (Melissa) Christoffel of Ottawa, IL, honorary sister Melissa (Kenneth)Toles of Stroud, OK, Aunts: Patricia Platt (Godmother) of Morris, IL, Shirley Delaney of Genoa, IL, Judith Krohne of Stroud, OK, Mary (Gerald) Broderick of Morris, IL. Cousins: Sherman Platt of Morris, IL, Adam Platt of Morris, IL. Jacquelin Sweat of Summerville SC, James (Debbie) Holmes Triumph, IL, Brenda Jones of Genoa, IL, Rebecca (Derek) Chambers of Oklahoma City, OK, Brain Holmes of New Berlin, WI, Crystal Holmes of Ottawa, IL. Tim had multiple nieces and nephews: Matthew II (Mya) Platt, Zachary, Kayte, Bailey, Dylan, Nathaniel, Alexzander, Elizabeth, Liyah, Jordan and 2 great nephews Riggs and Khalil. Tim had so many more family that loved him dearly.

Cremation rights will be observed, Visitation & Memorial Services will be held at Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home, 333 W. Church Street Sheridan, IL. on April 29th from 11am till 12 noon service with James Holmes officiating. Lunch provided after at the Sheridan Fire Department.
