Richard Timm, 79, formerly of Montgomery, IL, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Alden of Waterford in Aurora, IL. He was born May 9, 1935, the son of German immigrants, Ernest and Minna nee Flotow Timm. Richard served his country honorably with the US Air Force as an Airman First Class from March 1955 to December 1958. Prior to his retirement in 1992, he worked as a heat treat operator at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Montgomery, IL. Richard is survived by his two daughters, Pamela (John) White of Lake in the Hills and Phyllis (Brian) Day of Plano, his five grandsons Jacob White of Quincy, Eric White of Lake in the Hills, Craig (Jamie) Peter of Alton, Brent Day of Bozeman, MT and Kevin Day of Tinley Park, and his great granddaughter Norah Peter. He is also survived by a sister Clara Ackman, of Hampshire, a brother, Carl of Polar Grove and many nieces and nephews. He was in proceeded in death by his parents, his sisters, Erna Krecker, Gretta Czaja, Emma Morrison, Lucy Oeffling, Dora Smith, Helen Oeffling and Shirley Dominick, his brothers Vernon, Joachim, Otto and Fred and by the love his life, Tancie, in 1987. Richard enjoyed golfing, attending his grandson's sporting events and contributing to many charitable organizations. He was a kind and gentle man who will be deeply missed. A gathering of family and friends will take place on November 28, 2-6 pm at the Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, November 29, at the United Methodist Church, 219 North Hale Street, Plano, IL 60545. Cremation will be accorded with the wishes of the family followed by burial at the Oswego Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Disabled American Veterans, Christian Appalachian Project, Feed the Children, CARE, Smile Train or a charity of the donor's choice.
