Thomas W Skogen, 83, of Montgomery, IL died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born March 19, 1933 in LaCrosse, WI the son of the late Ernest L and Luella nee Johnson Skogen. He was employed by the BNSF railroad for 45 years prior to his retirement as an engineer on December 31, 1996. He was a member of St Olaf Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL since 1963, Polar Star Lodge #5-472 since 1984, Oregon Masonic Lodge #420 AF&AM since 1958, Burlington Northern Vets and the Bypass Route 30 McDonald's coffee group. He is survived by his wife Viola A nee Hoff Skogen, (Whom he married on October 4, 1958 in Holmen, WI.), daughter Tracy (James) Larsen of Evergreen, CO, son Todd (Linda) Skogen of Yorkville, IL, a grandson Michael Skogen and a sister Evelyn Skogen of Holmen, WI. A gathering of family/friends will be held from 2:30 PM until a memorial service at 3:30 PM at St Olaf Lutheran Church 1233 Douglas Rd Montgomery, IL. on Saturday April 16, 2016. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date at the Norden Cemetery in Holmen, WI. Memorials may be directed to St Olaf Lutheran Church.
