Thomas Andrew Page passed away at age 69 on April 23, 2021. He was born in Sullivan, Indiana on June 12, 1951, the youngest of eight children of Rein C. and Helen (Conklin) Page. Tom attended school in Carlisle until the school was closed and consolidated with Sullivan schools. After graduation from Sullivan High School in 1969, Tom attended Indiana University, graduating in 1973 with a degree in economics and a commission as a second lieutenant through the Army ROTC program. He then moved to Yonkers, New York and eventually to St. Albans, New York, a suburb of New York City. He was employed in the communications department of the Hilton Hotel in Manhattan until the hotel closed due to the Covid Virus pandemic. As the closure continued, Tom elected to retire rather than return to work at an uncertain date. He submitted the paperwork and was scheduled to retire on his seventieth birthday which was only fifty days after his untimely death. Tom served his country as an artillery officer, training at Fort Sill Oklahoma. He then served with the Army Reserves where he attained the rank of Captain. As the military went through a programed reduction in forces, Tom was periodically called back to active duty for special assignments related to conducting inventories of equipment to be mothballed or otherwise removed from active service. His military file includes letters of commendation for his expertise in preparing a manual of Standard Operating Procedures to be followed in this process. In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brothers, Robert E. Page (Lt Col, US Airforce, retired) and John Patrick Page and his sisters, Rosemarie Page and Rita Ann (Charles) Berkey and one nephew, Michael Page. He is survived by his brothers, William (Jeannette) Page of Oswego, IL and Paul Page of Morris, IL and his sister, Adelia (DeeDee) (Dr. Charles) Nichols of Huntington Beach, CA . He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews and cousins. Tom's sister, Rosemarie, passed away on March 30, 2020 at her residence in Seal Beach, CA. Due to the pandemic, no funeral or burial services could be provided. A funeral mass will be held in Seal Beach on July 22 and her cremated remains will be brought back to Sullivan. A graveside service for both Tom and Rosie will be held at Center Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Pfister officiating. The Sullivan County Honor Guard will provide military honors in acknowledgement of Tom's service.
