Thomas Paul Michalczyk Sr., 93, died Friday August 7, 2026, in Plainfield, IL. He was born March 9, 1933, in Chicago, IL. He was the son of Frank J. Michalczyk, and Maryanna, nee Patelski. He was the last of the 6 Michalczyk siblings to enter heaven.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife Lucille, nee English, whom he adored. Lucy was the love of his life since his teen years. He even kept a favorite, youthful picture of her in his wallet. They celebrated over 69 years together before her passing. When she was ill, he was there to care for her. They will now spend eternity together, as the loving, devoted couple they were here on earth.

"Till death do us part", now beautifully becomes "and we meet again".

Tom, along with Lucille created a legacy of a large, close family including his two daughters Gail (Dick) Davis, Bonnie (Gregory) Randa, two sons Thomas Jr.(Karen) Michalczyk, Alan (Cheryl) Michalczyk; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren; and dozens of nieces and nephews who loved him.

Tom had various employment opportunities during his long life, working most in sales, with a long tenure as a warehouse manager for a fastener company from which he retired. He came out of retirement for a while to join his wife Lucille who worked for a local school district. He then retired for the final time, and embraced that freedom.

In recent years, he split his time visiting with his large family in Illinois, Tennessee, Arizona, and he even traveled to Mexico for a wedding. Tom enjoyed visiting Casinos (22 black), and even made a couple trips to Las Vegas with his children. He enjoyed watching sports, horse racing, old westerns, and war movies; going to off track betting; but most of all he loved watching his grandchildren play. Tom also loved family dinners and gatherings, and good food in general, as long as he could eat indoors.

His favorite song was "My Way". Yes, he lived life his way. Some of his last words to his children were "Stay together; take care of each other; thank you kids; I love you".

"We'll love you forever Grandpa."
