Theresa Rollins, 80 of rural Sheridan died Sunday afternoon at her home. Theresa was born May 9, 1935 in Kansas City Mo. To Raymond & Angela (Martinez) Lopez. She married G. Wesley Rollins May 1, 1980 in Oak Brook, IL. Wesley passed May 28, 2004. She was a member of the Sheridan Seventh-day Adventist Church. She had been a data processing supervisor for Ace Hardware home office in Chicago for 23 years. She retired in 1990 and moved to Sheridan and together with her husband Wes and best friend Tommie operated a thrift store out of her property, serving the community and at the same time helping to build up the community service fund in her church at Sheridan. Theresa, Wes & Tommie closed the store in 1998 and then spent some time in Hot Springs, AR. Theresa loved the Lord Jesus with all her heart and often talked about her desire to see Jesus com in the clouds of glory. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Soto of Ottawa: her son, Alexander Soto of Ottawa; a step-son, Gary (Jorine) Rollins of Pullman, MI.; a step-daughter, Carol (Denny) Stout of Pullman, MI.; two grandchildren, Joseph & Noah Czarney of Sheridan; three step-grandchildren; a sister, Susan (Pete) Dyer of Lemont; and a brother Raymond (Marcella) Lopez of Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, G. Wesley Rollins; four sisters, Tillie Simental, Mary Lopez, Amparo Garcia, Angela Victoria; four brothers, Santos Lopez, Porfiio Lopez, David Lopez and Tony Lopez. The family wants to extend their gratitude to Diane Rogers and the OSF St. Elizabeth Hospice staff. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home Ltd., 333 W. Church St., Sheridan, IL 60551-0027. Private family graveside services will be held Friday at the Sheridan Cemetery with Pastor Michael Weakly officiating.
