Terry P. Leggett, Sr. age 91, of Montgomery, IL, peacefully passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Aurora, IL.

He was born February 20, 1933 in Corinth, MS, the son of Dewey and Hilada nee Hudson Leggett.

Terry proudly served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Bayfield as a radio operator from 1952 to 1956. After his honorable discharge, he entered the car sales business eventually owning his own used car lot and tire shop in Oswego and Aurora. He was an avid Chicago sports fan, except for baseball, where his heart was with the Cardinals. Terry was even given the chance to try-out as a pitcher for the Cardinals prior to entering the service. He loved to fish and tend his garden. His world was his wife of 63 years, his children and his grandchildren. He was a life-long member of Harvest New Beginnings Church in Oswego, IL, where he loved serving God.

He is survived by his children Kathleen (Scott) Pugsley, Terry Jr. (Lynn) Leggett, Christine Leggett, Mark (Peggy) Leggett, Cynthia (Darren) Chrisop, Billy (Heather) Leggett, Scott Campagna, grandchildren Amy Pugsley, Amber Pugsley, Adam (Vanessa) Pugsley, Zachary (Renee) Leggett, Jared Leggett, Samantha Leggett, Alisa Leggett, Mindy (Tregg) Breszko, Anna Leggett, Emily Leggett, Patrick (Sandy) Stiles, Danielle Stiles, Olivia Chrisop, Garrett (Jadyn) Leggett, Rebecca (Nick) Hill, 12 great-grandchildren, and sister Mary Jane Leggett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Grace and grandson Riley Tanner Leggett and two brothers and seven sisters.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM until a funeral service at 12:00 PM (Noon) at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.

Burial with full military honors will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
