Raymond A. Szumal, age 85 years of Aurora, formerly of Chicago, IL died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Pine View Care Center in St Charles, IL. . Raymond was born August 22, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Anthony J. and Adeline S. (nee Blohowicz) Szumal. He was married to Mary Jean (nee Remine) on August 28, 1948 in Chicago, IL. Raymond was in quality control at H. P. Smith Paper until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Oswego. He is survived by his daughter Pamela (Harvey), of Oswego, two sons, Michael (Stefanie) of Lincolnwood, IL and Raymond (Leslie Nathan), of Skokie, IL, seven grandchildren, Matthew (Janet), Jessica (Jonas), Zoe, Henry, Gabrielle, Steven Jr. and Evan, five great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, one brother Robert and one sister Joan. He was preceeded in death by his wife Mary Jean nee Remine Szumal and a son Steven Szumal. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL on Monday, June 9, 2014 with Rev. John Ouper celebrant. Visitation will be Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at DUNN FAMILY FUNNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL. Cremation will be accorded the wish of the family.
