Suzanne Schlapp, age 83, of Oswego, IL died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Bickford of Oswego. She was born February 2, 1938, in Council Bluffs, IA, the daughter of the late Al and Eleanor (nee Flack) Heyde. She was a member of the AuSable Grove Presbyterian Church (she had previously served as an Elder of the church), Lorraine Chapter #70 Order of the Eastern Star. She had served as a trustee and Supervisor of Na-Au-Say Township, IL and volunteered at Rush-Copley Medical Center for many years. Prior to retiring she has worked at the Oswego Community Bank, Twait John Deere Implement Co. at Leo Froelich Construction Co. all in Oswego, IL. She is survived by her two sons Brad (Renata) Schlapp, Dave (Kathleen) Schlapp; three grandchildren Nicholas, Hannah and Emilia Schlapp; a sister JoBeth (Gary) Fitzpatrick, a brother David Heyde, also nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Schlapp (whom she married on September 6, 1958), brother Bob Heyde and his wife Iva Lou, In-laws Ralph and Gladys Schlapp, niece Sarah Fitzpatrick, sister-in-law Vickki Heyde, Sister and brother -in-law Lynn and Jess Shaw. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place followed by inurnment at AuSable Cemetery in Na-Au-Say Twp, IL.
