Susan Kay Farrow, 58, of Oswego, IL, was born on May 28, 1958 and passed away on May 9, 2017, as a result of pulmonary fibrosis caused by an unknown lung disease. It is true that the world just won't be the same without her in it. Her mother, Beverly Vandervort, always said that she was a spoiled child. Never afraid to speak her mind, she showed her independence from the very beginning. Sue Farrow was the type of child who refused to go to sleep unless her mother told her the story, The Three Bears every single night. She showed the independence that she would be well-known for early on, when she wandered away from her backyard and explored the neighborhood when she was just a toddler. Sue lived a life that included lots of bumps in the road and hardships, but that was also peppered with good times and blessings, for she always found a way to make the best of the hand she was dealt. She always learned something from every obstacle that she faced and that's why she was one of the wisest people you would know. Through it all, she loved fiercely, argued her viewpoints passionately, discovered a love of music and gardening that fulfilled her life and gave her great joy. Sue met the great love of her life, Jay, thirty-four years ago. She loved all of her family and friends deeply; she had a special connection to her mother, two daughters and seven grandchildren. If you think of Sue and would like to do something in honor of her memory, do this: Inspire a love of music in someone, see past flaws and accept others' differences, make someone smile, forgive someone, or plant something in the earth and watch it grow. Memorial gifts may also be directed to Pops by writing a check to Springbrook Community Church and indicating in the memo line, Pops Orchestra Designated Act #2020, 11247 S. Heggs Road, Plainfield, IL 60585. You may add a short note indicating the donation is for Pops. Your generosity to continue her legacy of sharing the joy of music will be so greatly appreciated. Sue is survived by: Beverly Vandervort (mother), Jay Sceniak (life partner) Christy Valyou and Jennifer Schmidt (daughters), Larry Valyou (son-in-law), Shawn Farrow (ex-husband and friend), Art and Ronald Woodrum (brothers), seven grandchildren, many cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by: Ronald Woodrum, Sr. (father) and Laura Ann Woodrum (sister). Visitation will be on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 11:00 am until the funeral service at 1:30 pm, at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL 60543.
