Steven Hugh Schmidt, age 75, at rest March 16, 2023 at Accent Care of Naperville, IL, formerly of Hanover Park.

He was born May 16, 1947, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Peter and Mollie nee Baumhart Schmidt.

Steven majored in music from DePaul University. He is the former owner of his toy making business Einekleine Toy Company in Des Plaines and an Army Veteran serving in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot.

Steven is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Penny K. nee Traughber Schmidt, son Eric (Carrie) Schmidt; grandchildren Austin and Taylor Schmidt; step- daughter Christine Magnuson; step- son Scott (Karen) Magnuson; step grandchildren Ari (Kevin) Bryant, Channing and Ryan Konieczny, Ryan and Tyler Magnuson; great grandchildren Kiai and Eva Konieczny, Elena Bryant; brother Art Schmidt; sister Mary (Bruce) Foyer; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in his name came be made to your favorite charity.
