Steven A. Kirchen, age 64, of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away with his family by his side at home on Friday, June 23, 2017. He was born August 24, 1952 the son of Joseph G. and Doris J. nee Depew Kirchen. Prior to his retirement, Steve started his career as a cabinet maker and finished as a kitchen and bath designer. He attended St. Anne Church in Oswego, IL. He was deeply rooted in his faith which extended beyond church to help fix houses for vets in need, contributing to the Special Olympics, etc. Steve was an outdoor enthusiast and particularly enjoyed kayaking, traveling, photography, music, and writing poetry. Steve lived a full life filled with love, and was entirely devoted to family. He is survived by his mother Doris Kirchen of Elk Grove Village, IL, wife Pat Kirchen, children Jennifer (Shawn) Knutson of Oak Creek, WI, Gregory (Megan) Kirchen of Plainfield, IL, Christina (Leon) Laughlin of Bella Vista, AR, Jon (Conna) Constantine of Bono, AR, Becky (Brett) Wiersema of Albany, IL, grandchildren Madelyn Knutson, Riley and Delaney Kirchen, Isabelle and Bianca Constantine, Nora and Lucy Wiersema, brothers Joe (Kathy) Kirchen of New Berlin, WI, and Daniel (Sandy) Kirchen of Roselle, IL. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S.
