Steven R Hart was born in Jacksonville, Illinois on April 15,1968 to Ronald and Norma (Wood) Hart. He grew up in rural Roodhouse, Illinois and graduated from North Greene High School in 1986. Steve graduated from Illinois State University in 1990 with a degree in Accountancy. He earned his CPA later that year. Steve went to work for Mercantile Bank in St. Louis in 1990 and left there in 1993 to begin his 30-year career with Waste Management, where he held many different positions and made wonderful friends.

Steve married Lynn Powell on December 15,1990 and she survives. Also surviving are his children Collin Hart of Plainfield, IL, daughter Katie (Andres Esparza) Hart of Crest Hill, IL, mother, Norma(Joe) Tepen of Roodhouse, IL, brother Michael Hart, his brother Charles(Lisa) Hart of Grafton, IL, niece Amber(Logan) DeGroot of Shorewood, IL, sister Amy Hart Sconyers of the Bahamas, and step- grandmother Lois Hart of White Hall, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald, his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandparents.

Steve was an avid sports fan, faithfully cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and the beloved Fighting Illini. He could give you any statistics you would want to know! Steve coached Collin's youth baseball teams for many years and began umpiring after that. He cheered Katie's soccer teams all across the country. Steve was a faithful and active member of Wheatland Presbyterian Church, serving as treasurer, trustee, and Elder over the years.

A Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until time of Memorial Service 11:00 A.M. at Wheatland Presbyterian Church 11839 Heggs Road Plainfield, IL 60585. In lieu of flowers memorials in his name to Wheatland Presbyterian Church or Greyhounds Only, Inc. 539 W. Roosevelt Road #1003 Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 would be appreciated.
