Steven Leigh English, age 69, a longtime resident of Bristol, IL, passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Rush-Copley Hospital in Aurora, Il, on Friday, April 29, 2022. Steven was born July 17, 1952, in Aurora, IL, son to Rollin and Norma (Stouten burg) English, brother to Kathleen and Susan. Steven attended Kaneland School District followed by high school in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. After high school, he returned to the Aurora area, attended Aurora Barber College, and barbered in Naperville, IL at Henczel's Barber Shop. After barbering for many years, he then owned and operated Steven L English & Sons Trucking following a family tradition of gravel-hauling just as his father and grandfather before him. Steven had a love for outdoors, his family, playing cards, and charming the world with his charismatic smile. Steven was a beloved husband to his wife of 47 years, Sheila (Johnson). A beloved father to his children, Steven Jr. (Allison), Scott, Shane, and Staci. And a beloved grandfather to his grandchildren, Breanna Rose, Cameron Owen, Leah Ellen, Alana Mae, Brant Eugene, Tressa Leigh, Kaelyn Marie, Garrett Wayne, Lorelei Grace, Taryn Ann, Isabella Patricia, Grayson William, Brody Rollin, Teighan Mae, Ryan David, Sophia Grace, and Avery Joseph. He will be missed dearly. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022. There will be a private graveside service. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
