Stephen
Orr
July 2, 1971 – June 1, 2026
Stephen Ronald Orr, 54, of Oswego, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, June 1, 2026.
Stephen was born on July 2, 1971. He was a graduate of Hope D. Wall School in Aurora, Illinois, and was known for his love of singing and participation in Special Olympics programs and his love of bowling.
Stephen was a devoted sports fan who proudly supported the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Bulls. He could often be found wearing a team T-shirt that matched the current season during his long walks through the Crestview neighborhood. He was also an avid fan of WWE wrestling and especially enjoyed watching The Rock and Roman Reigns.
Stephen is survived by his aunt and uncle, Terry and Peggy Orr of Oswego, who lovingly cared for him over the past 15 years; his sister, Glynis (Lee) Tilley of Tennessee; his honorary brothers, Tim (Kristen) Orr and their daughter Lilly, Eric (Kate) Orr, Joey (Morgan) Orr; and his honorary sister, Brianna Pfeiffer, whose loving care and support remained constant through his final days. He is also survived by his Aunt Carol of Florida and her family; his Aunt Wendy of England and her family; Aunt Tricia and Uncle Petey Peterson, and the Ledbetter family, who loved Stephen as one of their own.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Marilyn Orr; his paternal grandparents, Anna and Wes Orr; his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Rita Beamish; his Uncle Wes; Aunt Ruth; Uncle Graham; and his beloved best friend in the whole wide world, Cam Ledbetter.
Stephen's family and friends will remember him for his dream of one day appearing on "American Idol", his passion for Chicago sports (except for the White Sox and Blackhawks), his excitement for WWE wrestling, and the joy and laughter he brought to those who knew him.
His family is grateful for the love, friendship, and support shown to him throughout his life. Stephen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
A Celebration of life service date and time pending. Inurnment private with his parents at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood, Illinois.
