Sophia Bernice McAskill, 82, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Season's Hospice in Naperville. Born in 1939 in Chicago to the late Joseph and Bernice (nee Mrowca) Wilczek. Sophia is survived by her children, Donna (Michael) Wareman and Paul McAskill (Diana Scarpino), and her grandchildren Zoe Wareman and Aribella McAskill. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Bernice Wilczek and her beloved husband, Alan Gabor. She was a devoted mother and passionate animal welfare advocate. Cremation was accorded according to Sophia's wishes. To honor her memory, donations can be made to any animal shelter or animal welfare organization.
