Shirley A. Anderson, age 81, of Newark, IL, peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side in the comfort of her home on Saturday, March 23, 2024. She was born May 5, 1942 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Clarence and Dorothy Ness.

Shirley worked for Theodore Larson in Newark, IL for 40 years. She was also a dedicated homemaker with a passion for gardening and cooking. She was known throughout the area as the Kringla Queen, bringing her treats to sell at the local BP. When not playing the slots at the casino, she could be found at any of her grandchildren's sporting events being the biggest cheerleader. She was also a member of the Newark Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughters Debbie (Dennis) Ferguson of Somonauk, IL, Jodi (Randy) Wilkinson of Newark, IL, grandchildren Dennis Ferguson (fiancé Hayley Karn), Dustin Wilkinson, Heather, Jessica, Brandon, and brother Don (Sharon) Ness of Sandwich, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Dorothy Ness, husband Forrest "Bud" Anderson (whom she married February 12, 1966) and a sister Janet (Charlie) Sneed.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9:00 AM until a memorial service at 11:00 At Newark Lutheran Church, 101 East Liberty Street, Newark, IL 60541.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Millington-Newark Cemetery at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Newark Lutheran Church.
