Sandra "Sandy" L. York, age 85, of Oswego, IL went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet, IL. She was born on October 5, 1940, in Aurora, IL the daughter of Charles and Gladys (Stadler) Bolf.

Sandy was united in marriage on August 17, 1957, in Aurora, IL to Mr. Jack B. York Sr. They spent the next 46 love filled years of their lives together until his passing on March 16, 2003. Sandy was a member of Genesis Community Church of Montgomery IL. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and who will be sorely missed by all that knew and loved her.

Mrs. York was employed for several years by The Tillers Nursing Home in Oswego, IL. Sandy loved to read and especially loved the music of Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley. She never met a dog she did not love. Most recently she loved going to her church and playing bingo with her friends, and of course, spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Vickie York (Martinton, IL,) John B. York (Ottawa, IL.) 8 grandchildren, Shane, Kelly, Trisha, Jacquline, Joshua, David, Anthony, her 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Gladys Bolf; her husband, Jack B. York; her daughter Julie Alsip (Marseilles); son Jack York Jr. (Jacksonville, FL); grandson Christerfer R. Gargo (Aurora); her sister Helen, and brothers Jack, Pete, & Donald.

A Visitation for Sandy will be held at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S. Douglas Road Oswego, IL 60543 on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 9:30 A.M. until time of funeral service 11:30 am. A graveside services at Riverside Cemetery 414 N River St, Montgomery, IL 60538. The family welcomes you to join them for food and celebration of life at Riverview Diner, 1420 SE River Rd, Montgomery, IL 60538 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing team at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, and Lightways Hospice in Joliet for the wonderful care they took of Sandy.
