Sandra D. Wienke, 77, of Oswego, IL, peacefully passed away at home on Friday, April 2, 2021 surrounded by her husband. She was born July 18, 1943 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of the late Vernon C. and Betty J. nee Cronin Smith of Aurora. Sandy was a graduate of West Aurora High School, Class of 1961. She was united in marriage on August 12, 1967 to Robert Wienke of Big Rock, IL. They started their life together in North Aurora, IL, but soon moved to Oswego, IL in the Fall of 1968, raised their family and shared 53+ years of marriage. Sandy was a Nursery Class Sunday School teacher for 30+ years at Oswego Good Shepherd Church. She was also active in the Oswego Home and School Association. Sandy is survived by her husband, Bob Wienke of Oswego, IL; son, David Pound of Seattle, WA, son, Tim (Tracy) Cronin and grandsons, Kyle Cronin, Shayne Cronin and Dylan Cronin of Wellsville, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Glenn and Erna Wienke of Big Rock, IL. A private family remembrance service will be held at the Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory in Oswego, followed by interment in Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery.
