Sally Marie Miller, age 78, of Mendota, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 27, 1936 in Jennings County, Indiana, the daughter of Carnel and Ramona E. nee Ewald Upchurch.
She was an avid bowler, having served as secretary and sergeant at arms for the Women's Bowling Association of Aurora. She was inducted into the Aurora USBC WBA Hall of Fame in the Meritorious Category in 1991. She was an active member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Aurora for many years prior to her illness. Sally will be remembered for the unconditional love and encouragement she provided to all she encountered.
She is survived by her son Paul Miller of Wisconsin, grandchildren Heather (Daniel) Benson of Sheridan, IL, Paula Miller of Sheridan, IL, Jay Miller of Texas, great grandchildren Michael, Tony, Chris and Dustin Rumple, Samuel Benson, Katlynn and Ashton Culver, brother Jack (Mary) Upchurch of West Columbia, SC, special cousin and guardian Cheryl Johnson of Paw Paw, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, J.R. Miller.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 12:30 PM until a funeral service at 2:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
