Ruthie S. Panek, 56, of Plainfield, IL, passed away at home with her loving family and friends by her side on Sunday, November 3, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 4, 1963 in Oak Lawn, IL, the daughter of the late Ronald J. and Nettie J. nee Kotz Rasner. Ruthie graduated from Bolingbrook HS and received an Associate's degree in Business from Joliet Junior college. Ruthie began working at Tellabs in manufacturing while in high school and worked within engineering and quality while obtaining her license as a cosmetologist. Ruthie was employed with Tellabs for almost 35 years finishing as a Quality Manager. Her last two years, she was employed by Wide Open West as a Change Analyst. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, gardening and cheering on her children in sports. She also loved organizing parent functions and meals for the teams as well as decorating lockers before big events. Ruthie fought her cancer with determination, strength and grace. She touched many lives with her infectious smile, laughter and zest for life. She will be so missed. She is survived by her husband Ted and their three children, Andrew, Michael and Sarah, brother Russell (Kimberly) Rasner of Plainfield, IL, brothers-in-law Fr. Edward Panek, Bruno (Donna) Panek, nieces and nephews Bryn and Mason Rasner and Elexandria Cusimano. She is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Anthony Rasner. Memorial Service will be held Sunday November 17, 2019 at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 South Douglas Road, Oswego IL 60543.
