He was born in Logan Co., IL, the son of Arthur Howard and Lala Mae nee Montgomery White.
Ever the dedicated worker, Roy held different jobs while he was in school. He pumped gas, did some construction work, and worked at Silver Springs State Park in Plano. Following graduation, Roy proudly served his country in the US Army as a SP4 stationed in Alaska. From there he started estimating them, and moved on to the purchasing department where he ended up the Director of Purchasing. After 20 years at Sealmaster Bearing, he left and became a Manufacturer's Representative for a few different companies.
After his long career at Sealmaster Bearing, he decided to go into business for himself and started Precision Packaging, Inc. in 1984, which he sold in 1994 and it is still in business today.
