Rosemarie (Rosie) Page, 83, passed away peacefully at her residence in Seal Beach, CA on March 30, 2020 surrounded by her sister, Adelia (DeeDee) Nichols, her brother-in-law Dr. Charles Nichols and her niece Roxanne Brown. Rosie was born in Sullivan, IN on October 8, 1936 to Rein C. Page and Helen (Conklin) Page. Rosie attended school in Sullivan through her sophomore year and graduated from Carlisle High School in 1954 after the family moved into Haddon Township. She then entered the nurses training program at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, completing the program and receiving her Registered Nurse certification in 1957. For the next few years, Rosie worked in several different hospitals, including Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis gaining a broad experience of the profession. She then enrolled in Indiana University and completed the requirements to receive her Bachelor's Degree. Returning to Evansville, she joined the faculty at St. Mary's where she taught for several years before relocating to southern California where she became a specialist in treating dialysis patients. Following her retirement, Rosie moved into a senior citizens community known as Leisure World. She became active in the homeowners association, serving in several positions including two terms as president. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and neighbors. Rosie had a love of travel and the arts. She visited almost all of the American states, parts of Canada and many European countries. Her special fondness for oriental arts led her to visit China four times. She demonstrated her love of the Chinese culture by designing and maintaining a small garden in front of her residence which she dubbed "The famous Rosie Page Oriental Gardens", a must see for the friends and family tourists who visited her. A wonderful hostess and tour guide, she took special delight in having visitors and guiding them through museums, parks, and local attractions as well as attending plays, concerts and other events. In addition to her parents, Rosie was predeceased by her brothers, Robert E. Page (Lt Col US Air Force, Retired) and John Patrick Page and her sister, Rita Ann Berkey (Charles) and one nephew, Michael Page. She is survived by her sister Adelia (DeeDee) Nichols (Dr. Charles) of Huntington Beach, CA and brothers William J. Page (Jeannette) of Oswego, IL, Paul D. Page of Morris, IL and Thomas E. Page of St. Albans, New York. She is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and numerous grand nieces and nephews and cousins. Rosie's untimely death unfortunately coincided with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Her wishes to be cremated and have a funeral mass celebrated in her parish church and burial of her remains in Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan had to be put on hold. Sadly, her youngest brother, Tom, passed away in New York on April 23, 2021. Now that the pandemic is largely under control, a funeral mass for Rosie will be celebrated in Seal Beach, CA on July 22 and a joint graveside service together with Tom will be held at Center Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Pfister officiating.
