Ronald (Ron) W. Given, 65, of Oswego, IL, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. He was born August 8, 1952 in Chicago, IL the son of Herbert and Janette (Marks) Given. Ron drove a truck for Aurora Packing Co. for 29 years, retiring in 2003. He then embarked on a second career as a school bus driver for the Oswego School District 308 before retiring again 2014. He was a talented craftsman and could build and fix almost anything. He was also a great cook. Ron simply liked making things for other people to enjoy. Ron was a soccer fan, and enjoyed watching it on TV and even playing in adult leagues in his younger days. He enjoyed traveling (except the airplane part) and vacationing with his family. Ron loved spending time with his dogs. Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carla Sue Given; his two children, Aaron (Amy) Given of Charleston, SC and Ashley (Bob Balsitis) Given of Downers Grove, IL; his only grandchild, Aidan Given; his sister Karin (Patrick) Dowd of Yorkville, IL; two nephews, Sean Dowd, and Christopher Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Jan Given; his sister, Nancy Ward; and nephew, Jason Ward. Gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 7:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543.
