Ronald "Ron" Mallec passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 22, 1942, Ronald was the beloved son of Henry and Attila Mallec. Ronald's journey through life was marked by a commitment to his family, his work, and his faith. After a distinguished career as an exemplary salesman at Hines Lumber, Ronald earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and customers alike
In 1996, Ronald married the love of his life, Nancy Cady, and they embarked on a beautiful journey together, starting with a memorable honeymoon in Italy-a country they both adored. Ronald was a devoted husband, and their 29 years together were filled with travel, adventure, and an unwavering bond that inspired everyone who knew them.
A man of faith, Ronald was a dedicated member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Oswego, IL. He was an avid reader who possessed an insatiable curiosity about the world. His love for travel was shared with Nancy and their friends, creating lasting memories and deepening bonds with those he held dear.
Ronald was a proud father to his son David, who, along with his wife Marina, resides in Texas. He also lovingly embraced his role as a stepfather to Rhonda Cady of Palatine, IL. His heart swelled with pride for his cherished grandchildren, Samantha Mallec-Medla and her husband Mathew of Las Vegas, NV, and Jeremy Mallec of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Bev, with whom he is now reunited in eternal peace.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ronald's remarkable life at a memorial service on March 14, 2026, from 10:30 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. The service will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 5 W. Washington Street, Oswego, IL 60543.
