Robert Thomas Williams, age 94, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL. He was born May 6, 1930, in Chicago, IL, the son of Thomas S. and Nora E. (Anderson) Williams.
Robert proudly served his country in the US Air Force. After his honorable discharge he worked as a lineman for Illinois Bell until his retirement.
Family was the centerpiece of Robert's life. He deeply cherished his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. These relationships were the source of much joy and provided countless cherished memories.
Robert's life was one of service, to his church, his career and in the military, and he will be remembered for his dedication to his family and his steadfast presence in all his endeavors.
He is survived by his children Deborah Carlson, Susan (Duane) Tuntland, Diana (Andy) Myers, Sarah (Jerry Moss) Borneman, grandchildren Jason (Erica) Carlson, Crystal Monsess, Justin (Tina) Carlson, Kerry (Blair) Carlson, Jacob Borneman, Kristen (Ryan) Moulding, Scott Myers, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, son Daniel, son-in-law Dave Carlson, sisters Nancy Abraham and Florence de Dube.
A visitation for Robert will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10:00A.M. until time funeral service at 11:00 A.M., at Newark Lutheran Church 101 East Liberty Street Newark, IL 60541. Interment will follow at Helmar Lutheran Cemetery Newark; IL where full military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Air Force.
