Robert (Bob) Williams of Oswego, Illinois, age 89 passed away on March 6, 2020; beloved husband of sixty-seven wonderful years to Virginia (Jinny) née Barnhart. Devoted father to Bob Jr. (Millie), Randall (Marlene), Jay (Kathie) and Jon (Leslie). He cherished his six grandchildren Chase, Troy, Bryan, Olivia, Sofia, and Aiden, and his great grandson Ryker, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Surviving sisters-in-law Carolyn McMillan Morris (Allan) (Waynesburg, Pennsylvania), Jean Barnhart (Stow, Ohio), and Jackie Barnhart (Nashville, Tennessee) were very dear to him. Bob was born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania on February 8, 1931. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Waynesburg. Upon graduating from Waynesburg High School in the class of 1948 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy (1948-1952). He then joined Roberts & Schaefer Company as a construction worker. He married Jinny on April 7, 1952. In June 1955 he enrolled in Waynesburg College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in the class of 1959. Upon graduation he returned to work for Roberts and Schaefer. He worked on various construction projects in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Illinois, and Kentucky. In 1960 he was transferred to the company's main office in Chicago. In 1965 he was promoted to Vice President and Treasurer, positions he held until his retirement in 1989. Bob enjoyed his life with Jinny in Park Forest, Illinois where they raised their family and encountered many people who became lifelong friends. He also became a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He was preceded in death by Lawrence Williams (father), Mildred Voelker (mother), Wilson "Curly" Voelker (stepfather), Shirley Cummins (sister), and Keith Williams (brother.) A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by burial at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
