Robert Andrew Marklein, 96, passed away on March 29, 2022 in Yorkville, IL. He was born March 24, 1926 to Fred and Mabel (Dhuse) Marklein and was a lifelong resident of Yorkville. Robert proudly served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific tour and fought in the Battle of Okinowa. After he was honorably discharged, he met and married Ramona Simpson in 1951. Robert liked to garden and enjoyed outdoor activities. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Cubs and Nascar. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ramona; daughters, Nancy (Rick) Stallman of Yorkville, IL and Diane Love of Coppell, Texas; grandchildren: Kelly (George) Perez, Ryan (Sarah) Stallman, Kyle (Raven) Love, Taylor (Shepherd) Klinke, Stacey (Westley) Vander Meer, Rachael Peirce and Mary Peirce; 7 great grandchildren; and his sister, Norma Wotring of Lake Havasu City, AZ. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Peirce; siblings, Dororthy Marklein, Ruth Dahlin, Fred Marklein, Helen Marklein and Herb Marklein. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 10:30 am at Dunn Family Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL. Pastor Del Keilman will officiate.
