Robert E. Leigh, age 90, of Oswego, IL passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at Bickford Senior Living in Oswego, IL. He was born March 29, 1928 in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Oliver W. and Katherine nee Saum. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army. After his service, he worked for ABF Freight as a dock handler in Montgomery, IL for 20 years and retired in 1989. He also farmed in the Oswego Township area for many years. He was a former member of the Oswego Presbyterian Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was a former Past Master of Raven of the Masonic Lodge #303 and a member of the American Legion Post #675 and the Kendall County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed volunteering at Meals on Wheels and Kendall County Food Pantry. He is survived by his children David E. Leigh of Grandville, IL, Deborah (Butch) Farrington of Newberry Springs, CA, granddaughters Brianne and Ashley Farrington, four great-grandchildren Kayleigh Farrington, Ruben Jaquez, III, Coben Hand, Robert Jaquez and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Geneva and a brother William (Glenda) Leigh. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery in Aurora, IL.
