Robert Joseph Laird, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born on June 21, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA a son to the late Arthur Norman Laird and Elizabeth Collins. Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Robert worked as an Electrical Engineer for Argonne National Laboratory, he loved the work he did there. In fact he enjoyed his time there so much he came out of retirement and proceeded to work until 2018. Robert crossed paths with the love of his life and were joined in matrimony on October 29, 1980 in Wheaton, IL. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Gail Laird; two sons, Michael Bryan Laird and David Joseph Laird; One Daughter Andrea Laird-Steele; many grandchildren, and friends whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Arthur Laird. A visitation is scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2019 at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 S.
