Robert James Eberhardt, age 76 of Bristol, IL, peacefully passed away with his loving family by his side on Monday, August 23, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 6, 1945 in Chicago, IL, the son of Henry and Bernice nee Rangartz Eberhardt. Robert proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1971 as an Airman First Class in the 524th Tactical Fighter Squadron. After he was honorably discharged, Robert worked in sales in graphic arts. In his spare time he loved to go fishing at his home in Sayner, WI. Being very mechanically inclined, he loved to work on projects, especially his '57 Chevy, and his hands never rested. He was also a big football fan and in his younger years would race at the Oswego drag strip. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda nee Dalu Eberhardt (Whom he married on March 2, 1968 in Downers Grove, IL), son Robert (Kristi) Eberhardt, grandchildren Ryan and Sara Eberhardt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary nee Eberhardt Carter, nephew Jim Carter and his faithful bulldogs Burt, Henry, Apollo and Pilgrim.
