Robert  "Bob"  L.  Rediger  Jr. 69, of Oswego, passed away at his home on April 25, 2025.

Bob was born on January 18th, 1956, to Robert L. Rediger Sr. and his birth mother Donelda J. Hakes. He was lovingly raised by his stepmother Doris Rediger.

In August 1975, Bob married the love of his life, Amanda "Mandi" Rediger. Together they built a warm and loving home where they raised their daughters Sasha and Elizabeth. Later in life, Bob proudly became "Papa" to his grandchildren Eowyn and Boldly, a role he embraced with great joy.

Bob was a devoted family man who found happiness in the simple moments shared with loved ones. He especially cherished taking his grandson to look for trains, spending "garage days" at his granddaughter's and hearing about his daughter Elizabeth travel adventures.

In his spare time, Bob enjoyed cooking with his wife Mandi, fishing, working on crossword puzzles, playing trivia games, and successfully fixing anything he could get his hands on while listening to the Cubs game on the radio in the garage. He loved talking about wildlife and took pride in gardening projects he and Mandi worked on together. For many years, Bob also played Santa Claus, bringing the magic of Christmas to children across the Chicagoland area.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Amanda Rediger; his daughter, Elizabeth (Ronnie) Sobol; son-in-law, Brett Bamforth; and his cherished grandchildren, Eowyn (Andrew) Bonser and Boldly Bamforth. He is also survived by his siblings, Lori (Bill) Wagner; Tamara (David) Kling; Gregory (Nicole) Rediger; Debra Vick; Victoria (Scott) Olson; many nieces and nephews, and close family through marriage John, Heidi, Heather, Hailey, Hailey's daughter Violet Rae and Art (Moose).

Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Sasha Bamforth; his father, Robert L. Rediger Sr.; his birth mother, Donelda; his stepmother, Doris and his brother, Timothy.

Per Bob's wishes, there will be no formal services. Instead, his family invites everyone to celebrate his life by doing something that makes them think of him-whether it's casting a fishing line, solving a crossword puzzle, working on a project in the garage, or simply sharing a laugh with someone you love.

Bob's life was filled with kindness, humor, and heart. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will live on in all who knew him.
