Richard Walczak, at the age of 68 passed away with his loving wife at his side on June 10, 2021.
He was an avid golfer who rarely missed his "church service" on Sundays at his favorite course, CinderRidge. He enjoyed photography and kept fresh water fish for his entire adult life, even donating a 2 foot arowana to the Shedd Aquarium.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, and was a talented woodworker, building his own and other neighbors' decks, creating Halloween graveyards and outdoor furniture with his daughter, even making his grandsons dresser by scratch to match his crib. He also spent many hours PC gaming with his daughter and grandchildren.
His favorite thing to do during the annual trips to Kentucky was to go bottle bass fishing in Kentucky lake with his late brother-in-law Pete.
He was the handyman on the block, always helping his neighbors but always would outdo their annual Christmas displays. He enjoyed springtime to plant the annuals around his always immaculate landscaping. He loved all animals big and small.
Later in life he enjoyed taking summer trips with his wife in his Mustang convertible - always with the top down and the music up. He definitely fit a lot of life in his time on this Earth, and affectionately called Dad by many.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pam, daughter Rikki (Ed) Sullivan, grandsons Aiden Kurtz and Connor Sullivan, sister-in-law Dorothy Peebles, and several brother in laws and their spouses, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Helen, brother Robert (Bob)and his wife Bonny along their only child Robert (Bobby), brothers in law: Pete and Butch, and sisters in law Jackie and Donna.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at Dunn Funeral Home with Crematory, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, Illinois on June 21, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 pm.
Private inurnment at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Joliet, Illinois.
