Richard A Jacobsen, age 73, of Montgomery, IL passed peacefully at home Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his residence. He was born November 7, 1942 in Floral Park, New York the son of the late John and Jean nee Ross Jacobsen. He served his country honorably with the United States Marine Corp. He retired after 42 years in law enforcement with the rank of Commander from Metra Police Department in Chicago and served as Director of Public Safety. He was a member of the Illinois Police Association, Illinois Police Chiefs Association and served as a GOP precinct committeeman for many years in Kendall County. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Lee nee Dawson Jacobsen, two daughters, Sandra (Larry) Baechler, Melissa (Nick) Gatzionis, a son Rick (Allyson) Jacobsen, seven grandchildren Troy, Amanda, Lauren, Ricky, Andrew, Gregory and Elena, a sister Jean Cook, a brother Robert (Lorraine) Jacobsen, also nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother John Jacobsen. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 2:00 PM until a memorial service at 5:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 South Douglas Rd Oswego, IL.
