Ramon Ayala, age 73, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. Ramon was born on February 17, 1946 in Venezuela, a son to the late Martin and Olga Ayala.
Ramon met the love of his life Maria "Malula" Gimenez de Ayala in Rome, Italy and they were joined together in matrimony on April 27, 1973 in Venezuela. Together they traveled the world sharing their love of cooking, dancing and friendship. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, smile, and unconditional love for family. Overwhelming testimony from family and friends exemplifies why he was so dearly loved, he was a kind, loyal, humble and noble man. Ramon worked as a diplomat for the Venezuelan government before his retirement in 2005 and proudly became a United States citizen in 2017.
Ramon is survived by his loving wife of forty-six years, Maria de Lourdes "Malula" Gimenez de Ayala; his three daughters, Maria Gabriella (James) Carr, Maria Fabiana (Matthew) Liska and Alexandra Eugenia (Andres Huesca) Ayala; five grandchildren, Cecelia, Emilia, and Lucas Carr, Rafael and Noel Liska; a sister, Olga Cecilia Ayala, and a brother Martin Ayala, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 7 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Community church in Naperville, IL. A private burial will be held at a later date.
