Ralph Victor Mead, age 89 of Yorkville, IL, peacefully passed away at his residence on Sunday, June 24, 2018. He was born April 13, 1929 in Elmhurst, IL, the son of Walter Gauger and Lorna Trenn, step-son to Robert Percy Mead. Ralph was a former science teacher at Mooseheart Batavia High School, and was a member of the National Education Association, and the Advent Christian Church Aurora, IL. He retired from teaching in 1984. He is survived by his loving wife, Madeline Elaine Mead, children, Victor Linwood (Sharon) Mead, Vance Eliot (Julie) Mead, and daughter Valarie Elaine (Raymond) Epperson. Grandchildren, Jessica Mead Ryan, Jared Mead, Caitlin Mead, Cassidy Mead, Camryn Mead, Carlisle Mead, Madeline Epperson Black, Victor Epperson, Jannea Epperson Thomason, great-grandchildren Caleb Ryan, Emory Ryan, Aniston Ryan, Ethan Black, Wyatt Black, Benjamin Thomason, Amos Epperson, his sisters Irma Mead Kelley, and Lorna Wilson, and his brother Robert Mead. He is preceeded in death by his parents, his sister Joan Mead, brothers Wilfred Gauger and Westley Gauger. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 3:00 PM until a funeral service at 5:00 PM at Advent Christian Church, 905 N Edgelawn Dr, Aurora, IL 60506. Followed by burial at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery 675 Route 30, Aurora, IL 60506.
