Philip John Siedlecki, age 71, of Oswego, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 14, 1945 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Felix Siedlecki and Theresa nee Lisican. Phil is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Judy Siedlecki, of Oswego, IL; children, Paul (Ingrid) Siedlecki, of Germany, Lisa (Jeremy) Schwartz of Montgomery, IL, Steven Siedlecki (John Leiser) of Romeoville, Laurie (Eric) Peterson of Somonauk, IL, Rick (Christy) Fields of Charleston, IL, and Julie (Steve) Olczyk of Oswego, IL; 18 grandchildren, Philip, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Christopher, Corey, Dustin, Alex, Anthony, Emily, Lindsay, Lauren, Libby, Violet, Mary, Janine, Katharina, Laura, and Angela; 6 great-grandchildren, and brother Jerome (Vicki) Siedlecki of Wheaton, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Patricia, one brother Bernard, and his first wife, Laura nee Wawrzyniak. Phil spent the last 10 years driving for Oswego School District 308, where he was lovingly known as "Mr. Oswego". For the children on his bus, he was "Mr. Phil". On his grandson Anthony's bus, he was "Papa Phil" to them all. He loved each and every one of them and he will be greatly missed. He had been a tool and die maker for 41 years prior to that. He was very involved in the Oswego Senior Center with his wife Judy and especially loved tending the garden there and at home. He served as an election judge for many years and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Phil was an animal-lover, spending his morning break feeding the birds. He was an avid collector of Lionel Trains, Coca-Cola, churches, polar bears and wolves. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 from 2:00pm - 6:00pm at the Dunn Family Funeral Home, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. A funeral service will take place Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
