Michael Collins Peterson, 45 years, of Yorkville, IL died, as a result of injuries sustained in an auto incident, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. He was born November 17, 1967 in Aurora, IL. Mike was a member of the Class of 1986 of Oswego Community High School. He went on to the carpentry trade within the area building many different structures and creating furniture to behold Mike is survived by two daughters Nicole (Eric Johansen) Peterson of Yorkville, IL, Emily Peterson of Clinton, IL; a grandson Eric 'EJ' Johansen, Jr.; his parents Paul and Donna Benson of Oswego, IL, three sisters Ronda Karnuth of Montgomery, IL, Brandy (Jay) Wolf of Aurora, IL, Michelle (Ben) Thrall of Montgomery, IL, a step-sister Stacy (Mark Balkema) Krause of Twin Lake, MI, a brother Jeff (Laurie Such) Benson of Oswego, IL; a significant other Charlene Wilson; also several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a step-brother Scott Benson; maternal grandparents Elmer and Marcella Vickery and paternal grandparents John and Anna Benson. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY 1801 Douglas Road Oswego, IL.
