George W. Pearce age 95 years of Oswego, IL formerly of Aurora, Naperville, and Sandwich, IL, died Sunday, September 14, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and his family's respected and admired caregiver, Stanley Wlosek. He was born February 6, 1919 in Aurora, IL the son of the late George Fitzgibbons & Florence Belle (nee Whitlock) Pearce-Guilda. He married Clarice H. Schiller on June 22, 1940 at St. Nicholas Church in Aurora, IL. He attended Oswego Schools and graduated from East Aurora High School. He proudly served with the U S Navy during World War II. George worked at Kroger in Aurora, Safeway in California and was the owner of Clover Farm Grocery Store on Galena Blvd. in Aurora, IL. He was employed at Barber Greene for several years and self-employed in construction. He obtained his Real Estate & Insurance licenses and was the owner/operator of George Pearce Companies for many years. He was also the owner of the Sandwich Airport and developer of Woodlake Landings Aero Subdivision of the airport. He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Oswego, IL, a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Sandwich, IL where he served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #736 in Aurora, IL, Fourth Degree, the Aurora Board of Realtors where he served as Past President in 1963, American Legion Post 675 Oswego, IL, Moose Lodge #400 Aurora, IL, The Airport Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and the Independent Airports Association. He is survived by his spouse of 74 years, Clarice H. Pearce, 4 children Carolyn (Tom) Ulrich of Yorkville, IL, Pat (William F) Dunn of Oswego, IL, George F. (Debbie) of Aurora, IL, Roger (Debbie Landberg) of Ocala, FL. His Grandchildren: Donna (Rod) Rendleman of Sterling, IL, Bob (Jeannie) Dunn of Aurora, IL, Eric Dunn of Oswego, IL, Tamara (Mark) Svatek of Sheridan, IL, Amy (Justin) Anderson of Montgomery, IL, George R. (Stacy) Pearce of Yorkville, IL, Nicole (Steve) Welfel of Ocala, FL, Larry Ulrich of Sandwich, IL, Gary (Sonya) Ulrich of Oswego, IL, Bobby (Casandra) Kluber of Aurora, IL., Great Grandchildren: Christy & Patrick Bryson, Alex & Jacob Dunn, Gabriella & Jessica Dunn, Miranda, Garrett & MacKenzie Svatek, Jillian & Jordan Anderson, Owen Welfel, Jeremy & Meghan Ulrich, Matthew Ulrich, Gage, Logan, Guiliana Kluber, Great Great Grandchildren: Haley & Alexzandria Bryson, Great, Great, Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Pearce. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Wednesday September 17, 2014 at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM, St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass Oswego, IL with Father John Ouper celebrant.
