Pauline Schmedeke, age 78, of Aurora, IL, peacefully passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 8, 1940 in Chingford, England, the daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian nee Dryden Poultney. Prior to her retirement in 2002, Pauline worked as a secretary for Task Movers. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, knitting and shopping for deals at the local Goodwill. She is survived by her children Carl (Debra) Schmedeke, Karen (Joe) Orosco, grandchildren Justin & Jessica Schmedeke, Nichole Watt, Andrew (Katie) Orosco, great-grandchildren Wesley Orosco, Nolan Orosco and Mason Watt. She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald and a sister Norma Prior. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. Graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Road, Elwood, IL 60421.
